Not every traveller wants the same kind of holiday. Avvago offers two distinct formats so you can pick the one that suits how you like to travel.
Group Departures run on fixed dates from Mumbai, typically with a group of 15 to 40 travellers. This is the most cost-efficient way to visit Himachal Pradesh, with group rates on transport, accommodation, and sightseeing bringing the per-person cost down significantly. You will share coaches and hotels with other travellers from Mumbai and other cities, and a dedicated tour manager travels with the group throughout. Group packages start from Rs. 14,999 per person and are ideal for solo travellers who want to travel with company, or friend groups looking for a managed experience without the hassle of coordinating everything themselves.
Private and Custom Packages give you complete flexibility over departure dates, pacing, hotel category, and itinerary design. Our Mumbai travel desk will build your itinerary from scratch based on your group size, preferred destinations, travel dates, and budget. Private packages start from Rs. 22,000 per person and are particularly popular with families, honeymooners, and corporate groups. Every private package comes with a dedicated point of contact from the day you enquire to the day you land back in Mumbai.
If you are unsure which format suits you, visit our trip types page for a detailed breakdown of all travel formats we offer.
Different months offer very different Himachal experiences. Here is a quick month-by-month guide to help you choose the right time for your trip.
March to June (Peak Summer Season): This is the most popular window for Mumbai travellers escaping the pre-monsoon heat. Temperatures in Shimla and Manali remain between 10 and 25 degrees Celsius. Rohtang Pass typically opens in May, making Solang Valley and Lahaul Valley accessible. Snow is still visible on higher peaks. Flowers bloom across the Kullu Valley and the Parvati Valley. Book early as departures in May and June fill quickly.
July to September (Monsoon Season): This season is not recommended for most Himachal destinations due to landslide risk on mountain roads. Kasol and the Parvati Valley receive particularly heavy rainfall. If you must travel during this period, Dharamsala and Spiti (which is in a rain shadow zone) are safer options. Our travel desk can advise on current road conditions before your departure.
October to November (Post-Monsoon, Ideal Season): The skies clear, the air sharpens, and the landscape turns golden and amber. This is considered the most beautiful time to visit Himachal. Rohtang Pass may close by November but lower valleys remain open. Apple orchards in Kullu and Kotgarh are in full harvest. Highly recommended for couples and families.
December to February (Winter Snow Season): Manali sees heavy snowfall from December onwards, making it a top destination for snow experiences. Rohtang is typically closed, but Solang Valley still offers snow activities. Roads can be challenging and temperatures drop well below freezing at night. Our winter packages include heated vehicle transfers and hotels with adequate heating. This is the peak season for honeymooners wanting a white Manali.
